Since 1996, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) and Ice & Snow Technologies LLC (IST) have collaborated extensively on winter maintenance projects.  The goal was to introduce a new approach to ice and snow removal that would be cost effective from an operational, economic, and environmental point of view.

  The results of these pilot projects pointed to a need for more formal ice and snow control training for maintenance personnel at all levels.  To date, training has generally been offered sporadically, with no overall standards for content and instructional methods.  Experience has shown that training is critical to success when implementing the anti-icing technology, therefore the need to provide comprehensive, systematic, standards-based training to increasing numbers of workers and supervisors has now been addressed.

And so we are proud to introduce a series of training courses certified by the International Standards Organization, created in conjunction with the Pacific Traffic Education Center in the Justice Institute of British Columbia by Ice & Snow Technologies LLC.
