This module contains four separate lessons, however, this number is subject to change as industry standards change. 

 

Each lesson will require approximately 4 hours of instructional time.

 

Each student will receive a student lesson manual to be used for future reference.

 

Each lesson is numbered for easy identification for accurate record keeping.

                                    Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§         Outline the responsibilities of the road agency or contractor to the motoring public

§         Explain the key actions that can reduce the risk of litigation

§         Develop an incident response plan for employees

§         Deal effectively with litigation the process

                                    Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§        Assess present winter maintenance capabilities and resources of the organization

§        Assess political, economic, environmental and legal factors affecting operations

§        Determine strategies and resources needed to meet level of service goals

§        Develop a snow and ice management plan

 

Expand/Collapse Item ISC 205 (2)     Evaluation and Implementation of FAST Technologies

 

                                    Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§         Determine the role that FAST can play in your operations plan

§         Assess the economic, environmental and legal issues surrounding the use of FAST

§         Perform a market survey for available hardware and software capabilities

§         Determine system integration issues unique to FAST

§         Develop a set of performance specifications for needed hardware and software

                                    Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§         Recognize the key factors in setting and implementing Level of Service Goals

§         Develop an infrastructure (stockpile, information systems, shops, etc.) plan.

§         Plan operational routes and priorities

§         Schedule and train personnel.
