This module contains six separate lessons, however, is subject to change as industry standards change. 

 

Each lesson will require approximately 4 hours of instructional time.

 

Each student will receive a student lesson manual to be used for future reference.

 


Each lesson is numbered for easy identification for accurate record keeping.

                                    Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§         Assess the needs of the users

§         Inventory present assets

§         Prepare a comprehensive snow and ice plan for an agency

§         Determine resource needs for implementation

§         Implement a comprehensive snow and ice plan

                                    Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§         Assess the relationship between Level-of-Service goals and resource needs

§         Determine strategies for budget implementation

§         Calculate cost/benefit ratios and return-on-investment ratios

                                    Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§         Assess the needs of the users

§         Develop performance-based specifications

§         Evaluate various purchasing procedures

§         Evaluate contract proposals

                                    Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§         Assess the needs of the users

§         Recognize the key aspects of chemical performance

§         Develop performance-based specifications

§         Determine warrantee, guarantee, and penalty needs

Upon completion of this lesson, each student will be able to:

§         Identify the critical tests for deicing chemicals

§         State the key elements of the testing protocols

§         Evaluate test results for decision making with respect to certification and quality control

§         Recognize the role of test results in the enforcement of contract provisions
